Film and Philosophy/Philosophy and Film conference
July 4 - July 6, 2008 at Arnolfini Arts Centre, Bristol (contact: Havi Carel). The conference is convened by Greg Tuck (Film Studies, UWE) and Havi Carel (Philosophy, UWE) and brings together researchers across film and philosophy disciplines in one of the first and largest gatherings in this emerging area of multidisciplinary work. Keynote speakers are Vivian Sobchack (UCLA) , Steven Mulhall (Oxford) and Robert Sinnerbrink (Macquarie, Sydney). A special film program will run at Arnolfini concurrent to the conference, including the award winning philosophical film, The Ister.
